The Friday night meeting was called to order at 6:30 by John Gould. 12 people present.

The whole meeting was “Round Robin”. Some highlights ---

Jim and Mary, the people from Watsonville, who are building an Oddysey, were here. The Oddysey has a Vne of 150 mph.

Mary just soloed! Congratulations, Mary.

Don Lindsay reported that he had ridden in a Challenger at Lodi. Also, found active-noise-reduction headsets by Telex for $279 on the web. “Echelon” model.

George Nicholson noted that a guy at Oshkosh has had success at setting up Corvair engines for airplanes. 100 hp.

George also saw a Highlander with wings that fold, for trailering.

John Gould is looking for a Light Sport aircraft, pusher, two-seater capable of carrying two people, some baggage, and full fuel. He’s interested in the Skyboy or Skyarrow.

Bill Dennison, and Jack (last name?), noted that the Hornet has a two-piece wing and can be trailered. It also has pneumatic suspension, and appears to be a pretty tough airplane. Web site: http://www.flyhornet.com/ Here’s a picture:

Blade Doyle just received his Ultralight Pilot certificate! Congratulations Blade.

Lou Janis is still searching for a Part 103 aircraft, west of the Rockies.

Rusty’s Cherokee is in for it’s annual. Poor li’l airplane. Poor Rusty.

Watsonville (WVI) is hosting an open house on Oct. 30. We’re all invited.

John Gould reported that John Feemster will incorporate his Quicksilver. This will increase it’s availability as a trainer aircraft.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00, with a reminder that there will be a Jabiru at Hollister tomorrow at about 1:00 pm. A representative for Jabiru will be showing it to us.

www.jabirupacific.com I believe this is the J-200:

Not obvious in this photo is the amazing visibility the inhabitants have over the panel. The view is terrific!

This is a beautiful airplane. $50,000 kit, complete with 6-cyl Jabiru engine.
