Minutes: September 16, 2006, Meeting of EAA Ultralight Squadron 110

The meeting was called to order at 1:35 pm at the Wings of History Clubhouse, by Club President, John Feemster. 13 souls aboard.

John Gould reported that we have $1571.85 in our treasury.

Business:

Jim Shaw has his new Canadian-built engine and has not yet installed it into his Falcon.

Lou Janis reported that George Henry is looking for a two-seat ultralight. Mr. Henry can be reached at his business phone: 831-638-0569.

The major EAA event that has just occurred was the Airventure at Oshkosh. John Feemster noted that the hottest news item is Cessna’s announcement of a Light Sport Aircraft that was shown, as a not-yet-flying model, and that should be available within a couple of years. See the Round Robin notes for more information.

Hollister Airport: The City of Hollister wants to raise rental rates, in a very confusing situation. Apparently there has been poor accounting of funds, including FAA monies used for other purposes. It was suggested that we support the local EAA 1264 group there. We’re considering inviting them to join us for our Christmas gathering, and other possible joint activities.

South County Airport: Many of the new hangars are empty.

Byron Airport is expanding. John Feemster has a hangar there, and noted that there is increased activity – in fact there is a new runway, so that there are now parallel runways there.

A new guy, Pavan Bhatnagal ( I hope I’ve spelled it correctly), is looking for a hangar for his Thundergull.

The meeting was closed at 2:00 pm, for the Tech Talk, on “How would you recover from this?” – recovering from weird and bizarre situations.
