August 20, 2004 EAA Chapter 110 Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Vice President George Watson at 6:15 
pm at the RHV Terminal building CA.  All chapter officers except John 
Feemster were present.

1.	Old Business
a.	The trip that Rusty Wells and Mike Reynolds took to pick up Dieck�s 
CGS Hawk and the wings for Rusty�s airplane was only partially 
successful.  They did pick up Rusty�s wings but were unable to bring 
Dieck�s airplane back.
b.	The status on the High School Genisis project is that Laurie Dieck 
is chairing the project to get the airplane released to us as parts.  
No progress on the lien or the legal action.
c.	Mike Reynolds insured the C-182 at Overfelt HS so if it is destroyed 
before we can move it we will collect.
d.	John Feemster was not present so we have no word on progress 
contacting the lawyer.
e.	Jim Shaw soloed in John Feemster�s 2-place Quicksilver this past 
week at Hollister.
f.	Gloria Watson is on her fifth lesson in the Quicksilver.
g.	Harold Marchant reported no progress on locating two place 
ultralights for club members to purchase.
h.	Mike Arndt is still looking for Part 103 leagal Ultralights but none 
seem to be available west of the Mississippi.
i.	Don Lindsay is interested in training in a Challenger and he was 
given some information on locating an instructor with a Challenger.
2.	New Business
a.	We held an informative round table discussion about the new LSA  and 
Sport Pilot rules.  It is clear that there are still some issues that 
have to be solidified by the manufacturers.
b.	The September meetings will be held Friday evening of the 17th at 
RHV and at Hollister on Saturday, Sept. 18th.  The Jabiru dealer will 
be at Hollister with a Jabiru LSA to demo.
c.	Eric Peterson, Asst. Director of Airports for the County stopped by 
and answered some questions about hangars at South County.  He said 
that the hangars will be held up to a few months if the renter does not 
currently have an aircraft to put in to the hangar.  He also said that 
there is no limit on how many airplanes you can have in a hangar.  
Rental costs will be $.47, $.51 and $.55 per sq/ft. depending on the 
size of the hangar.  Larger will cost more per foot.  Hangar soze and 
layout is on the county airport website.  Hangars should be available 
in October if the builders finish up in time.



George Watson adjourned the business meeting at 7:40 pm for some hangar 
flying.
