Minutes: August 19, 2006, Meeting of EAA Ultralight Squadron 110

The meeting was called to order at 1:40 pm at the Wings of History Clubhouse, by Club President, John Feemster. 13 souls aboard.

Minutes of the July meeting were approved as posted on our website.

Treasurer’s report: We currently have $1453.10 in our account.

John Feemster:

Asked if anyone may be interested in becoming a Sport Pilot Instructor. There was discussion on this.

Suggested that each person get involved as “builder” of your aircraft. There are advantages in doing this.

If your aircraft uses liquid cooling, check the viscosity of your antifreeze. A brand new aircraft in the group was running hot, and then the builders discovered that the coolant that they were using was too thick to circulate freely. It was an easy fix to change the antifreeze.

Jim Doherty is considering setting up a “spare parts trailer”. See the Round Robin notes for more on this.

Stephen Mann is offering his trailer for sale. It’s a 16’ Mirage tandem, approximately 7000 lbs. capacity. He’s asking $4900 for it.

John Gould had items regarding Wings of History:

September 9th will be a workday. If you’re available, please come and help with cleanup.

December 9th will be the WOH Christmas Party. We are considering adjusting our meeting date to coincide so we can join them in the party.

Wings is looking for docents. If you’re interested, contact WOH. (408) 683-2290, or contact John at Gould42@aol.com.

Stephen Mann offered that he has recently taken his written test for Sport Pilot. He studied the Gleim Sport Pilot book for 4 – 5 hours and passed with a score of 90%. “It’s easy”, he says.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 pm.
