EAA Squadron CX and USUA
155, May 17, 2003, Meeting Notes:
The meeting was called to
order by John Gould at 09:30 at the Wings of History Clubhouse, South County.
15 souls aboard, 5 of which were new to the group.
Unfortunately, several Key
Players, including instructors, were not present. Any hopes of instructional
flights on that day were dashed.
The Golden West EAA Regional
Fly-In is happening on June 20-22, and Harold Marchant is going to be working
there. Here’s the web site: http://www.goldenwestflyin.org/gwaahome.shtml
and here’s Harold’s e-mail address: halthehrbl@aol.com.
That is the same weekend as our next meeting.
There was discussion about the
coming Sport Pilot rating. With any luck, this will become official during this
year’s Oshkosh Fly-In.
There was discussion about
airplane availability, insurance, etc. Dave Hilpert let it be known that he is
willing to make his Tundra available to other members to fly. Thank you, Dave!
Then, Lots of questions. We
have work to do to get this bunch networked and functioning a little smoother.
We have a few guys spinning lots of plates. We need more people willing to take
on various plates.
Here’s some info:
The web site
for our group being taken over by Blade Doyle (bdoyle@blotter.lsd25.net) as Hal is
unable to devote the time it needs. (Hal is leaving the area to live in Gold
Country – Happy Trails to You, Hal!) The web site address is http://www.aerodromehq.com/.
Blade has started a Yahoo Group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/aerodromehq/. It’s just getting going, and has some good
information. Go there with your browser
and click on the button that says: “Join this group” and join-up. If you’re not
already a ‘member’ of Yahoo, you’ll have to handle that. Thanks, Blade!
Work is being done to bring our members and contacts list up to date. John Gould (the greatest
plate-spinner I know) has been trying to do that along with everything else.
(Thanks John!!!!!) and has finally met his limit. Help is on the way. (Thanks
Lou!)
Attached at the end of this is a Word doc. from
October ’02 with ultralight instructors and
their phone numbers. If anyone knows of any of these people’s phone numbers,
etc., or other data that needs updating, let me know. mcilrath@pobox.com
So, there’s work to do. The
most important thing about it is that it’s fun! “If it isn’t fun, we shouldn’t be
doing it.” –John Gould. (Thank you, John!!!!)
