EAA Ultralight 110 Round Robin
March 17, 2007, and beyond:
There was no “Round Robin” at Saturday’s meeting; however, there are RR items.
Magnum Aviation gave us a first class introduction to their operation at South County Airport. John Benson, General Manager, cooked burgers and dogs for us while we lounged in front of the maintenance hangar.

Later, we held our meeting in the conference room of West Valley Flying Club.

Irv Eastin and Ken McKenzie on planning for the Golden West Fly-In.
We’re planning a Fly-out to visit the Castle Air Force Base Museum on April 7th. Contact Lou Janis lou@adv-sys-eng.com for information. The Museum web site: http://www.elite.net/castle-air/
The flyer and instructions for the “Low & Slow Poker Run”, May 5th, are posted on the Club web site. http://www.aerodromehq.com/, click “Poker Run” in the main page text.
Contact Rich Grialou rgrialou@earthlink.net or Steve White scwhite101@yahoo.com for more information.
We need someone who would have fun with coordinating our end of the Wings of History/ South County Airport Open House, on May 19th. If you’d like to take that on, contact Mike Ettl Michael_ettl@sbcglobal.net. Also, we need another ultralight to show that day. Jim Shaw may bring his Falcon (note below), and we can always have another. Bring your airplane!
Other tidbits:
Mike Arndt is planning to take lessons from John Feemster this summer and start flying his Quicksilver! Go Mike!
A note from Jim Shaw: “My wife and I bolted my new engine to my airplane (Falcon) last Friday. As soon as I have the time to finish the fuel, ignition, and starter circuits, install the prop, and run in the engine, I’ll try some crow hops. If I can find the time to do all of that before the Wings Open House, I would like to fly over to it.”
The Genesis is for sale. You can find the ad at www.barnstormers.com or a copy here: http://www.uptomyassinalligators.com/thegenesis.
Tim Floyd has produced an excellent video of low & slow flying in his Legal Eagle, along with the yellow Cub-like light sport that lives in the Weatherly. I’ll see if we can have it at the next meeting.
And, finally, this from Bob Meuse:
“Son, you’re going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming a pilot. You can’t do both.”
