December
18, 2004 EAA Chapter 110 Meeting Minutes
The meeting was
called to order by President John Feemster at 2:10 pm at Wings of
History Museum, San Martin, CA. All chapter officers were
present.
1. New Business
a. John Feemster announced that
Laurie Dieck has accepted the position of Executive Director of the
Wings of History.
b. The Cessna 182 was removed from Overfelt High

it’s future is determined. We will explore possibilities of working
with Gavilan College or Wings of History to restore it and sell it to
generate some revenue.
c. John Feemster announced that he now has
a twenty foot enclosed, double axle trailer that is available to club
members for transporting their aircraft.
d. John briefly reviewed
the basics for safe flying on cross country flights. He will discuss
this topic in more detail at the next meeting.
e. John Gould
announced that it is time for chapter dues and that he will be
accepting them at today’s and next month’s meetings. Dues are
$25.00 to EAA Chapter 110.
f. Rich Grialou announced that the
chapter had twenty current EAA members on the roster for our 2005
chapter renewal to EAA headquarters.
2. Several spouses were
in attendance for the annual pot luck and gift exchange. John
Feemster adjourned the meeting early so we could proceed with the
round robin update on projects and get to the
festivities.
Respectfully submitted,

Secretary
December 18, 2004 Round Robin

We went around the table, focusing on projects --
Rich Grialou: The Sonex is in Arizona, the new prop has arrived and will be installed after the Christmas holiday.
George Nicholson: Two aircraft in his arena – The Genesis has been “surplussed” by Independence High School and will soon go on eBay. The 182 is on a trailer and as we spoke, was on it’s way to Wings of History.
Dave Hilpert: Jim Shaw’s Falcon is in Dave’s hangar. Dave is trying to find time to work on his P-40, which is tough now that he’s commuting to his new job in Los Angeles. Dave has scales available to anyone who wants to do a weight-and-balance on their aircraft.
Blade Doyle: The Weedhopper is back together and flying again. The Lou/Mike A./Harold Quicksilver is sharing the hangar with the Weedhopper.
Jim Doherty: Still has a Pterodactyl available to anyone who is willing to assemble it. It has flown once across the US, and is in need of TLC. Jim and Mary are continuing with Odyssey flight training at Mark Beirle’s ranch. The Odyssey will likely be flying by February.
Gloria Watson: Is about ready to solo in the MXL. She needs to gain a little weight. With Gloria aboard for a solo flight, the aircraft is outside weight/balance. Go Gloria!
Laurie
Dieck: Besides her new work as Executive Director of Wings of
History, she’s working on bringing her Hawk and it’s related
collection of parts out from Illinois. I don’t know what Laurie’s
airplane looks like – here’s a pic of a 2-seat CGS Hawk Arrow:
Bill Denison: He and Jack Sunzeri are making good progress on their Hornet.
Steve and Karen White: Estimate that they’ve hit the 80%/80% point with their 2-place Clipped-wing Challenger. They hope to get it flying this spring.
Valerie Schaefer: Her project is her husband, John Gould. She wouldn’t comment on his progress. (Hi Valerie!)
John Gould: Commented on the hopeful availability of 100 hangars at South Co. Airport by spring – and that the Santa Clara Director of Airports supports ultralight activity. Also, there has been reaction at Paso Robles Airport going against ultralight operations there. Pressure is building in support of resolution of that conflict.
John Feemster: The Wings of History has given our Club permission to use the Clubhouse on the 3rd Saturday throughout 2005.
AND….. Mary Doherty has put together a list of people who are active around here, mostly Club members, and some who are major supporters -- with phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and what kind of airplane they are working on or flying. This is one of those ongoing ever-changing projects that needs someone who is willing to stick with it. Thank you, Mary!!! If you want a copy, contact Mary at (831) 423-3610 or maryatscruz@aol.com.
This was our Christmas Potluck Meeting and Gift Exchange. There were 28 people who showed up with lots of food, drink, gifts and Good Cheer. For those of you that missed, you may have noticed a warm glow coming from the area. It was a GOOD TIME!
