Minutes: November 19, 2005 Meeting of EAA Chapter 110
The meeting was called to order by President John Feemster at 1:35 pm
at the Wings Of History Clubhouse. All Chapter officers were in
attendance.
Old Business:
1. Minutes of the October meeting were accepted and approved.
2. There was no Treasurer’s report.
3. The issue of paying rent to Wings of History for use of the
clubhouse was addressed. Jack Sunseri, along with several other
chapter members are also members of Wings of History. Jack will see
if this will mitigate the requirement to pay Wings of History rent
next year. This issue will be resolved at our next meeting.
New Business:
1. John Feemster polled the attendees to see if anyone was
interested in serving as chapter officers in 2006. No one was
interested in the positions of President, Vice President or
Treasurer, so the existing officers will serve in 2006. Vaughn
McIlrath agreed to serve as Secretary and Mary Doherty and John Gould
volunteered to help him with meeting minutes. A motion was made and
seconded to elect:
President – John Feemster
Vice President - George Watson
Treasurer – John Gould
Secretary – Vaughn McIlrath
As Chapter 110 officers for 2006. No objections were voiced and the
officers were unanimously elected. There terms will start in
December 2005.
2. John Feemster polled the attendees to see if there was interest
in having a Xmas Potluck and Gift Exchange at our next meeting at
1:30 on December 17. There was sufficient interest so John laid out
the rules:
A. Members can bring guests.
B. Each attendee must bring food to share – John will provide a
ham. Suggestions for attendees are salads, side dishes, deserts,
drinks.
C. Each attendee must bring a wrapped gift to include in the gift
exchange. The gift must cost less than $10.00, be wrapped with no
labels and be as anonymous as possible.
D. Attendees will draw lots to see who gets first choice at a gift,
without opening it first, or can take someone else’s gift. This is
generally a fun event and more details will be provided at the potluck.
3. Vaughn McIlrath made a motion to make Laurie Dieck a life member
of the chapter. After discussion the motion was amended to make her
an honorary life member of the chapter. The motion was seconded and
carried. Laurie Dieck is now an Honorary Life Member of Chapter 110.
4. Mary Doherty asked if anything has been resolved as to
availability of hangars at Hollister or south County airports.
Nothing has changed at either location.
5. John Feemster reported that he contacted the FAA about
establishing an Ultralight Flight Pattern at South County Airport.
John was told by the FAA that this was an issue for the airport
management to resolve. John drafted a map and a letter with details
of the proposed pattern and sent them to Carl Honaker, the county
director of airports. John informed Carl that it was Director’s
decision to determine if there would be a special pattern for
ultralights. John has not received a response but he will follow up.
6. A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the business portion of
the meeting and proceed to the tutorial. The motion carried and the
meeting was adjourned.
